Michigan will begin reimbursement for Medicaid beneficiaries to receive birth doula services in 2023. 

Here are some opportunities to get involved:

• MDHHS is now hiring two Doula Specialists to support this initiative. Application deadline is November 24 at the link below.
• The Michigan Doula Advisory Council is being created to inform the advancement of doula services in Michigan as a result of the Medicaid doula reimbursement policy. Application deadline is December 15.

Monthly Mentoring Gatherings on Zoom for Birth & Postpartum Doulas

This past week, topics ranged from what doulas should bring with them to births in their “birth bag” to the doula’s role in early labor and when to join the laboring mother.
