Doula Business Guide Workbook by Patty Brennan

Sometimes we just need a little encouragement and guidance on our path. I have renamed this workshop Evolving Your Doula Business because that is the Lived Experience of doula business owners. We Evolve. You are setting out to create something that wasn’t there before. First we conceive, then we gestate, then we labor, then we birth. Next we nurture. Birth is the ultimate metaphor for so much of life. No matter where you are in the creative cycle, allow me to “doula” you to the next phase. Join us on on June 19 (Saturday, 8:30am-5pm EST). Class fee includes a copy of The Doula Business Guide Workbook: Tools for Creating a Successful Practice, 3rd Edition, by Patty Brennan.

For the past year, we have been capturing resources shared by doulas in training, using the Chat Box function on Zoom. I’ve combined the recommended resources from both birth and postpartum doula trainings for you. Download Resource List.

HOLDING SPACE FOR PREGNANCY LOSS ~ FREE Webinar & Continuing Education for Doulas!

With author AMY WRIGHT GLENN

Join us on July 21 (Wednesday, 7–8pm EST). What does it mean to hold space? What does it mean to companion the bereaved? How can doulas feel both confident and compassionate in the event of a planned fetal demise or an unexpected and heartbreaking outcome? Mark your calendar! We will record this webinar and make it available if you can’t join us.

Amy Wright Glenn is the owner of the Institute for the Study of Birth, Breath and Death, and author of a book by the same title. You may be interested in reading Amy’s other book, Holding Space ~ On Loving, Dying, and Letting Go, as an accompaniment to the webinar.

These Detroit moms are starting a revolution in the baby shower industry.

Be Her Village features a gift registry platform for Support, not Stuff, connecting new moms with the businesses that support them. Instead of wipe warmers and crib bumpers, the gift registry is filled with doulas, lactation consultants, pelvic floor specialists, and all the other amazing providers that help new moms rock motherhood. The vision for the platform is more than connecting mothers with the support they need during pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood. It is about FUNDING that support. Beyond that, Be Her Village intends to disrupt the baby shower industry and change the way we celebrate mothers as a culture. This strikes me as brilliant!

1. Create your free registry.
2. Add the services and support you really want.
3. Receive cash to make motherhood better (Yes, really!)

Lifespan Doulas is offering a lifetime certification at no additional cost for our past students.

If you are finding that the DONA International certification process is too burdensome (in terms of time, money, and hoops to jump through), and thereby presenting obstacles to certification for you, you can now engage a streamlined certification process through Lifespan Doulas. Meanwhile, if you trained with another trainer in the past, but would like to certify through Lifespan Doulas, you may do so for a one-time fee of $100. Lifetime certification is granted (no ongoing fees or requirements) and we will give you an enhanced listing in our Doula directory for one year (a $50 value). There are separate processes for Birth and Postpartum Doulas. Learn more about each process here:
